How do I make a GIF from images?

Upload your pictures, drag the frames into order, and select a frame to edit it. Use Save Changes after editing, adjust the animation speed, then select Generate GIF and Download GIF.

Is this GIF maker free and without a watermark?

Yes. You can create and download GIFs for free, with no watermark and no account required.

Which image formats can I use?

You can select JPG, PNG, GIF, BMP and TIFF files up to 10 MB each. The image must also be decodable by your browser; if a TIFF does not open, convert it to PNG or JPG first. For predictable animation frames, use still images.

How do I make my GIF faster or slower?

Animation speed sets the delay between frames in milliseconds. A smaller delay makes the GIF faster; a larger delay makes it slower. For example, 100 ms is about 10 frames per second.

What is the difference between Stretch, Fit and Zoom?

Stretch fills the output dimensions and can distort images with different proportions. Fit keeps the whole image visible and adds background where needed. Zoom fills the frame while cropping the edges. Output dimensions are based on the first image.

Are my images uploaded to a server?

The editor processes your images and creates the GIF in your browser. Image files are not sent to our server for editing. The site also uses analytics and advertising services; see our Privacy Policy for details. Read our Privacy Policy.

Can I make a GIF with a transparent background?

Yes. Enable Transparent Background to preserve transparent areas in source images such as PNGs. This does not remove an existing solid background. GIF transparency has hard edges rather than partial transparency.

Can I convert a video or edit every frame of an existing GIF?

This tool is built to create GIFs from individual images. It does not convert video or extract all animation frames from an uploaded GIF. Use still images as the frames of your new animation.
